Barcroft aluminum hydroxide gels vary in assay and viscosity to meet your formulation needs. Low Viscosity Gels, such as Barcroft LV13, are easy to handle and pumpable with standard equipment. Due to the lower viscosity upon dilution to final formulation, the use of suspending agents and thickeners are recommended to achieve appropriate thickness for an antacid suspension. While High Viscosity Gels, such as Visco 9, are typically used in regular-strength antacid suspensions because these products yield thick and creamy formulations without requiring the use of additional thickeners or suspending agents. Our aluminum hydroxide pumpable gels also require less quantity to achieve finished dose, allowing for more concentrated formulations.
LV13 has a higher concentration compared to paste versions and you can develop a cost-effective antacid suspension with a pleasant mouthfeel using Flogel, a magnesium hydroxide gel, together with LV13.
Visco 9 can be used with Type M, magnesium hydroxide paste, to create a cost-effective suspension with a pleasant mouthfeel.
