Barcroft Magnesium Hydroxide Powders are used in wet granulation and direct compression tableting and suspension applications. Vary in density and particle size distribution; On dry basis, Magnesium Hydroxide, dried at 105°C for 2 hours, contains not less than 95.0% and not more than 100.5% of Mg(OH)2. As an Antacids API, it neutralizes the stomach acid to relieve the burning pain of indigestion and heartburn. Used on its own, Magnesium Hydroxide is a laxative active ingredient. It works as an osmotic agent by drawing water from the tissue around the bowel into the gut to ‘flush’ the contents out.

5100 is free-flowing and blends very well with other ingredients. It is low lead (<125 ppb) and can be used in antacids that must meet USA’s California Proposition 65.

5200 RMP is a medium-density, resuspendible powder with high viscosity upon dilution with no supernatant, ideal for Laxative suspension. Specifically designed for rehydration from the powdered form to produce a smooth, viscous, non-separating suspension, which is required for milk of magnesia (MoM) type systems. It is cost-effective for shipment anywhere in the world since it eliminates the cost of shipping water. It does require high shear mixer to disperse. Can be formulated for regular and extra strength concentrations. ~PSD D50 35 µm.
