Product Information
Neocel is a colloidal grade of Microcrystalline Cellulose (MCC), which is co-processed with Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium (NaCMC). A fine and insoluble particle that can disperse in aqueous systems.
Benefits
When dispersed Neocel sets up a 3-D network that imparts stability in the finished product. This network is held together with hydrogen bonding between the particles of MCC and CMC. Unlike many rheology modifiers/thickening agents on the market, this is an insoluble matrix which provides:
- suspension, thickening and emuslion stabilization to syrups
- suspension to antacid preparations, emulsions, creams and nasal sprays
To help you choose the right Neocel, here is an easy reference chart:
Neocel Type | Viscosity Details |
---|---|
C11 | Highest NaCMC content with lowest viscosity |
C91 | Viscosity lower that C81, with finer particle size |
C61 | Improved version of C91, which is easily activated |
C81 | Higher viscosity than C91 with lowest NaCMC content |
C08 | Highest Viscosity grade |
