Product Information
Simethicone is an API used as an antifoam agent in antiflatulence formulations. Simethicone’s mode of action is to impart itself between gas bubbles formed in the stomach, breaking down the film in order to force the bubble to join and rise to allow the body to expel more easily. Simethicone is not biochemically available in the body and naturally passes through the digestive system only without imparting any side effects.
It can also be used as a processing aid to remove foam in the formulation process of other pharmaceutical products.
