Sodium Deoxycholate
Product Information
Sodium Deoxycholate is bovine-derived and used in selective media for reagent/lipid digestion pharma. It is a bile acid salt. The Deoxycholic acid acts as a detergent to solubilize fats for intestinal absorption, then reabsorbs itself and is used as a choleretic and detergent. Bile salts work along with lipids/fats/cholesterol and form mixed micelles in the intestine. These micelles help in fat digestion and absorbtion through the intestinal wall.
