Product Information
WITEPSOL® H hard fats mostly consist of triglycerides with a portion of, at most, 15% of diglycerides and not more than 1% of monoglycerides. They are characterized by a very small gap between the melting and solidification temperatures, have only a minor tendency to the post-hardening phenomenon (maximum 1.5 °C), and can be processed both with automatic casting machines and, on a small scale, using the cream melting process (precrystallization) at casting temperatures around the stated melting point. They include compounds having hydroxyl values (HV) between 0 and 5 which avoid interactions between the free OH groups and acidic active compounds (ASS, Diclofenac, etc.).
There are 7 grades of Hard fats in the WITEPSOL H series, we have broken them into three categories to help you select the right solution:

PROCESSING – BEST PRACTICES / CREAM MELTING
Melt Hard Fat to 60°C under stirring for ~15 mins, recommended to destroy the near states of grid structure and memory effect of fat crystals
• Cooling to ~ 45°C before introducing suspended actives
• Incorporate API under stirring
• Cool to appr. 5 °C above melt temperature prior to molding, bulk mixture should remain agitated
• Molds at room temperature
• Temperature delta between hard fat reservoir and molded suppositories (first cooling) should not exceed 15°
